About
I began my career as a bid coordinator, where I developed tender responses, case studies, presentations and capability material before moving into bid writing, management, and freelance consultancy. Across my bidding career I've supported opportunities ranging from approximately £50,000 to £65 million, working with SMEs, established contractors and multidisciplinary teams.
The work has varied considerably. On some assignments, I've been brought in to develop responses against a live deadline. On others, I've reviewed submissions, coordinated technical contributors, developed reusable content or helped create a more structured approach to bidding.
As the first bid manager at Kubrick Group, for example, I was appointed to establish its first structured bid management process, developing reusable content and templates and introducing greater consistency across responses. I was also nominated as a subject matter expert to advise on the development of internal Bid Writing and Marketing LLMs, reviewing outputs for tone, accuracy and quality.
Earlier roles included bid writing for Paragon and Tilbury Douglas, where I supported complex public sector tenders and produced capability material for business development. At Willmott Dixon Interiors, I worked across tenders, case studies, presentations and brochures, honing my InDesign skills and layout design capabilities along the way.
That mix of writing, review, process development and quality assurance is what now shapes my freelance offer. I can step into a live tender when resource is tight, but I'm equally interested in the work that makes future bids easier: stronger processes, better organised information and reusable content that doesn't disappear into old folders once a submission is complete.
I hold a BA in Communications from the American University of Rome and an MA in Creative Writing from Kingston University London, where I achieved a Distinction and received the course's Academic Achievement Award. This background of communications and creative writing has proven to be valuable in a profession where technical accuracy matters, but so does the ability to communicate complex information clearly, logically and persuasively.
